Response Tracking

5 min read

WittyForm captures every form submission and displays it in a clean, easy to scan response table. Whether you need to review individual answers, look at attempts that were never finished, or pull the data into a spreadsheet, the Responses view has you covered.

The Response Table

The Responses view lists every submission in a table, with a column for each form field plus the submission time and how long the respondent took. New responses appear when you open or refresh the view, so reopen the page to pick up the latest submissions.

Each row is selectable with a checkbox, which lets you choose specific responses before exporting. Click any row to open its full details.

Response Details View

Click on any response to open the full details dialog. This shows every field and the respondent's answer in a clean, readable layout, along with a small metadata panel. From the details view you can see:

  • The exact date and time the response was submitted.
  • How long the respondent took to complete the form.
  • The device type they used (desktop, mobile, or tablet).
  • The browser they submitted from.

File uploads and signatures render inline, so you can review attachments and signed fields without leaving the dialog.

Completed and Partial Responses

The view has two tabs so you can separate finished submissions from ones that were started but never sent:

  • Completed: The respondent filled out the form and clicked submit. These are your full responses and the ones included in exports.
  • Partial: The respondent opened the form but left before submitting. WittyForm keeps a record of these attempts so you can see where people are dropping off.

Switch to the Partial tab any time you want to review unfinished attempts. Understanding where people stop can help you spot a confusing or off-putting field.

Exporting Responses

To take your data elsewhere, use the Download button above the table. CSV gives you one row per response for spreadsheets and analysis, and PDF saves each response as its own document. If you select specific rows first, the export covers just those responses.

For the full export walkthrough, see the Exporting Data article.
