Using the AI Assistant in Form Editor

The AI assistant is built directly into the WittyForm editor. It goes beyond one-time form generation: it is an ongoing collaborator that helps you add fields, improve question wording, optimize for conversions, and generate quiz content while you build.

What the AI Assistant Does

The AI assistant is available inside the editor as a contextual helper. It understands your form's purpose, existing fields, and structure, so its suggestions are relevant to what you are building: not generic advice.

Key capabilities:

• Suggest new fields based on your form's purpose and existing content
• Rewrite question text to be clearer, more engaging, or more professional
• Generate answer options for multiple choice and dropdown fields
• Create quiz questions on any topic with correct answers
• Recommend form structure improvements (field order, grouping, page breaks)
• Identify potential issues like missing required fields or unclear wording

Accessing the AI Panel

The AI assistant lives in the Build tab of the editor. Look for the AI icon in the right-side toolbar (sparkle icon). Click it to open the AI panel, which slides in from the right side of the editor.

You can also invoke the AI assistant by right-clicking any field on the canvas and selecting Ask AI from the context menu. This opens the AI panel with that specific field pre-selected as context.

Suggesting Fields Based on Form Purpose

When you first create a form or when your form has only a few fields, the AI can suggest additional fields based on what it understands about your form's purpose.

1. Open the AI panel and type a prompt like: "What other fields should I add to this contact form?" or "Suggest fields for a job application form."
2. The AI analyzes your existing fields and form title, then suggests a list of fields including their types, labels, placeholder text, and whether they should be required.
3. Click Add next to any suggestion to instantly insert it into your form. Click Add All to insert every suggestion at once.

The AI is context-aware. If your form already has a "Name" and "Email" field, it will not suggest those again. Instead, it might recommend "Phone Number," "Company," or "How did you hear about us?"

AI-Powered Field Content Suggestions

For fields that require options (multiple choice, dropdown, checkbox), the AI can generate relevant answer options.

1. Select a multiple choice or dropdown field on the canvas.
2. In the AI panel, ask: "Suggest options for this field" or describe what you need: "Give me industry categories for a B2B form."
3. The AI generates a list of options tailored to the field's label and your form's context. For example, if the field is labeled "Department," it might suggest "Engineering," "Marketing," "Sales," "Customer Support," "HR," and "Finance."
4. Click Apply to replace the field's current options, or Merge to add the suggestions to your existing options.

Improving Questions with AI

Select any field and ask the AI to improve its wording. This is useful when you want to make questions clearer, more professional, or better suited to your audience.

• "Make this question more conversational": Transforms formal language into a friendly tone.
• "Make this more professional": Elevates casual language to business-appropriate wording.
• "Simplify this question": Reduces complexity and jargon for a broader audience.
• "Add helper text for this field": Generates a short description that explains what the field is asking for.

The AI shows you the current text alongside the suggested revision. Click Accept to apply the change or Discard to keep the original.

AI Form Optimization Tips

Ask the AI to review your entire form for optimization opportunities. Try prompts like:

• "How can I improve this form's completion rate?": The AI analyzes field count, question complexity, and form length, then suggests concrete changes like removing optional fields, reordering questions, or splitting into multiple pages.
• "Are there any issues with this form?": Flags potential problems like missing email fields, overly long forms, confusing question wording, or missing required validations.
• "Optimize this form for mobile": Suggests changes that improve the mobile experience, like replacing text inputs with dropdowns or using shorter labels.

AI Quiz Question Generation

For quizzes, the AI assistant can generate entire questions with answer options and correct answers marked.

1. Open a quiz in the editor and open the AI panel.
2. Describe what you need: "Generate 5 multiple choice questions about JavaScript closures" or "Create a 10-question geography quiz about European capitals."
3. The AI generates each question with:
   • Question text
   • Answer options (typically 4 per question)
   • The correct answer pre-marked
   • An optional explanation for why the answer is correct
4. Review the generated questions and click Add for the ones you want to include. Edit any question before adding if you want to adjust the wording or options.

For personality quizzes, you can ask the AI to generate questions with trait scoring: "Create personality quiz questions for introvert vs extrovert with trait point assignments."

Tip: The AI assistant learns from the context of your form. The more fields and content your form already has, the more relevant and specific its suggestions become. Start by adding a few key fields manually, then let the AI fill in the rest.
