Email Notification Settings
WittyForm gives you granular control over how and when notification emails are sent for each form. You can configure who receives notifications, add conditions to filter which submissions trigger emails, and choose between instant and digest delivery.
Per-Form Notification Config
Each form has its own notification settings, independent of other forms. Open a form and go to Settings > Notifications to configure them. You can enable or disable admin notifications and submitter confirmations separately. This means you can have one form that sends both admin and submitter emails, while another form only sends admin notifications.
Adding Notification Recipients
By default, the workspace owner receives notification emails. You can add additional recipients:
- To: The primary recipients who receive the notification email directly. Add multiple email addresses separated by commas.
- CC: Carbon copy recipients who receive a copy of the notification. Use this for team members who should be aware of submissions but are not the primary audience.
- BCC: Blind carbon copy recipients who receive the email without other recipients knowing. Useful for compliance or logging purposes.
Recipients do not need to have WittyForm accounts: any valid email address can be added.
Conditional Notifications
Sometimes you only want to be notified about certain submissions. Conditional notifications let you set rules based on form answers:
- Send a notification only when the "Urgency" field equals "High"
- Notify a specific team member when "Department" equals "Sales"
- Skip the notification entirely when "Type" equals "Test Submission"
Set up conditions in Form Settings > Notifications > Conditions. You can add multiple conditions and choose whether all conditions must be met (AND) or any condition (OR).
PDF Attachment of Responses
Enable the Attach PDF option to include a formatted PDF of the submission as an email attachment. The PDF contains all questions and answers in a clean, printable layout. This is useful for teams that need to archive submissions or share them with people who do not have WittyForm access.
Notification Frequency
Choose how often notifications are delivered:
- Instant: An email is sent immediately for every submission. This is the default and best for forms with low-to-moderate submission volume where timely follow-up matters.
- Daily digest: Instead of individual emails, receive a single daily summary email containing all submissions from the past 24 hours. The digest is sent at a time you configure (e.g., 9:00 AM in your timezone). This is ideal for high-volume forms where individual notifications would be overwhelming.
The frequency setting applies per form, so you can have instant notifications for your contact form and a daily digest for a high-traffic survey.
