Using Form Templates
Templates give you a head start on building forms. Instead of creating every field from scratch, pick a pre-built template designed for common use cases and customize it to fit your needs.
Browsing the Template Library
To access templates, click New Form on your dashboard and select Use a Template. The template library opens with forms organized into categories:
- Feedback & Surveys: Customer satisfaction, NPS surveys, event feedback, product reviews.
- Registration & Signup: Event registration, webinar signup, course enrollment, newsletter subscription.
- Contact & Support: Contact forms, support tickets, inquiry forms, callback requests.
- Orders & Payments: Order forms, booking forms, donation forms, invoice requests.
- HR & Internal: Job applications, employee surveys, onboarding checklists, time-off requests.
- Education: Quizzes, assessments, course evaluations, student intake forms.
Use the search bar at the top to find templates by keyword. For example, type "feedback" to see all feedback-related templates.
Previewing a Template
Before using a template, you can preview it to see exactly what it looks like and what fields it includes. Hover over any template card and click Preview. The preview opens a live version of the form so you can scroll through the questions, see the layout, and check the field types.
Cloning a Template
To use a template:
- Find the template you want in the library.
- Click Use Template (or click the template card itself).
- A copy of the template is created in your workspace as a new form in draft mode.
- The form editor opens so you can start customizing right away.
The original template is never modified. You are always working on your own independent copy.
Customizing After Cloning
Once a template is cloned into your workspace, it behaves like any other form. You have full control to:
- Edit, add, or remove any fields.
- Change the form title and description.
- Update the theme, colors, and branding.
- Modify validation rules and required fields.
- Add conditional logic to show or hide fields.
- Configure the thank-you page and notifications.
- Set up integrations like Google Sheets or email automation.
Think of templates as a starting point, not a constraint. Change as much or as little as you like.
Saving Your Own Templates
If you build a form that you want to reuse across multiple projects, you can save it as a template:
- Open the form you want to save as a template.
- Click the three-dot menu in the top toolbar and select Save as Template.
- Give the template a name and optional description.
- Click Save.
Your custom template will appear in the template library under a My Templates section, available for you (and your workspace members) to clone in the future.
Tips for Working with Templates
- Start with a template even if you plan to change most of it: the structure and field layout can save time.
- Preview multiple templates before choosing to find the best starting point for your use case.
- Save commonly used form structures as your own templates to standardize forms across your organization.
- Templates include all settings (theme, validation, logic), not just fields: so they carry over the full form experience.
