Quiz Certificates
Overview
Certificates let you reward respondents who pass your quiz with a professional, downloadable document. Whether you are running a training course, an online class, or a certification program, WittyForm certificates add credibility and give respondents something tangible to show for their effort.
Enabling Certificates
- Open your quiz in the editor.
- Go to Settings > Certificates.
- Toggle on Enable Certificate.
- Set the Minimum Score required to earn a certificate. This can be the same as your passing score or a different threshold (e.g., only award certificates for scores above 90%).
Customizing the Certificate Template
WittyForm provides a certificate designer where you can tailor the look and feel to match your brand.
Logo and Branding
- Upload Logo: Add your organization's logo. It appears at the top of the certificate. Recommended size: 400x200px, PNG or SVG format.
- Primary Color: Set the accent color used for borders, headings, and decorative elements. This is pulled from your form theme by default but can be overridden.
- Background: Choose a plain white background or select from built-in patterns (classic border, modern minimal, elegant gold).
Text and Content
Customize the text that appears on the certificate:
- Title: The main heading (default: "Certificate of Completion"). Change it to "Certificate of Achievement", "Certificate of Excellence", or any custom title.
- Subtitle: A line below the title (e.g., "This certifies that").
- Body Text: Additional text that appears below the recipient's name (e.g., "has successfully completed the JavaScript Fundamentals Assessment").
- Footer Text: Organization name, instructor name, or any text at the bottom of the certificate.
Certificate Fields
The following dynamic fields are automatically populated on each certificate:
- Recipient Name: Pulled from a name field in your quiz. You select which field to use in the certificate settings.
- Score: The respondent's quiz score, displayed as a percentage or raw score.
- Date: The date the quiz was completed. Format options include MM/DD/YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY, or Month Day, Year.
- Certificate ID: A unique identifier automatically generated for each certificate, used for verification.
Download and Share Options
When a respondent earns a certificate, they have several options:
- Download PDF: A high-resolution PDF of the certificate, suitable for printing.
- Download Image: A PNG version that can be easily shared on social media or added to a portfolio.
- Share Link: A unique URL that displays the certificate on a hosted verification page. Recipients can add this link to their LinkedIn profile or resume.
Certificate Verification
Every certificate issued through WittyForm includes a unique certificate ID and a verification URL. This allows employers, schools, or anyone to verify the authenticity of a certificate.
- The verification page displays the recipient's name, quiz title, score, date, and your organization's name.
- Verification pages are publicly accessible but do not expose the quiz questions or detailed responses.
- You can disable verification pages in Settings > Certificates > Verification if you prefer not to have hosted pages.
Managing Issued Certificates
View all issued certificates in the Certificates tab of your quiz dashboard. From here you can:
- Search certificates by recipient name or certificate ID.
- Revoke a certificate if needed (the verification page will show it as revoked).
- Re-send the certificate email to a recipient.
- Export a list of all certificate holders.
