Using Brand Audit

5 min read

Brand Audit scans all forms in your workspace and checks them against your brand profile to ensure visual consistency. It identifies forms that use incorrect colors, fonts, logos, or attribution text so you can bring everything back into alignment. Brand Audit is available on the Enterprise plan.

What Brand Audit does

As your team creates more forms over time, brand inconsistencies naturally creep in. Someone picks a slightly different shade of blue, another person uses the old logo, and a third forgets the required legal footer. Brand Audit catches all of these issues automatically by comparing every form in your workspace against the brand profile you have configured in your workspace settings.

Setting up your brand profile

Before running your first audit, make sure your brand profile is configured. Go to Settings → Brand Profile and set the following:

  • Primary and secondary colors: The exact hex values your brand uses. The audit checks backgrounds, buttons, accent colors, and text colors against these values.
  • Approved fonts: The font families your brand permits. Any form using a font outside this list will be flagged.
  • Logo: Upload your current logo. The audit checks whether each form displays the logo and whether it matches the current version (not an outdated one).
  • Attribution text: Any required footer text, legal disclaimers, or copyright notices that must appear on every form.

Running an audit

  1. Go to Settings → Brand Audit.
  2. Click Run audit now.
  3. The audit scans every published form in your workspace. This usually takes a few seconds to a couple of minutes depending on how many forms you have.
  4. When the scan completes, the audit report is displayed automatically.

What the audit checks

The audit evaluates each form against the following criteria:

  • Color compliance: Are the background, button, accent, and text colors within your approved color palette? The audit allows a small tolerance (within 5% color distance) to account for minor rendering differences.
  • Font compliance: Is the form using only fonts from your approved font list? This includes heading fonts, body fonts, and button fonts.
  • Logo presence: Does the form include your workspace logo? Is it the current version of the logo, not an outdated upload?
  • Attribution text: Does the form include the required attribution text, legal disclaimer, or copyright notice defined in your brand profile?
  • Custom CSS conflicts: If the form uses custom CSS overrides, the audit checks whether those overrides conflict with brand guidelines.

Reading the audit report

The audit report divides your forms into two categories:

  • Compliant: Forms that pass all brand checks. These are shown with a green checkmark.
  • Non-compliant: Forms that fail one or more checks. Each non-compliant form lists the specific issues found, such as "Button color #3B82F6 does not match approved palette" or "Logo not found."

The report also shows an overall compliance score as a percentage: the number of compliant forms divided by the total number of forms.

Fixing non-compliant forms

Each issue in the audit report includes a Fix button that takes you directly to the relevant setting in the form editor. For example, if a form has the wrong button color, clicking Fix opens the form theme editor with the button color field highlighted.

For bulk fixes, you can click Apply brand profile to all at the top of the report. This resets the theme of every non-compliant form to match your brand profile. Use this with caution: it overrides any intentional custom theming on individual forms.

Scheduling recurring audits

Instead of running audits manually, you can schedule them to run automatically on a recurring basis:

  1. Go to Settings → Brand Audit → Schedule.
  2. Choose a frequency: Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.
  3. Select the day and time the audit should run.
  4. Optionally, enable email notifications so the Owner and Admins receive a summary of the audit results each time it runs.
  5. Click Save schedule.

Scheduled audits appear in the audit history with a "Scheduled" tag. You can view past reports at any time from Settings → Brand Audit → History.

Tips for maintaining brand consistency

  • Run a brand audit after onboarding new team members who may not be familiar with your brand guidelines.
  • Schedule weekly audits for large teams with many active form creators.
  • Keep your brand profile up to date: if your brand evolves, update the profile before running the next audit.
  • Use the "Apply brand profile to all" feature after a brand refresh to bring all existing forms in line with the new guidelines at once.
